Spring Break in the Cayman Islands

Three incredible days of diving and playing with family (well okay, mostly diving) in the Cayman Islands: the ocean temperature was about 80 degrees, and the air temp 85 degrees during the day and 75 degrees at night. I hooked up with a small dive company that allowed me to start and complete my Advanced Open Water scuba certification, and provided me with a private instructor, gear, boat, and access to some pretty awesome dive spots. On the deep wall dive I went down to 103 feet and saw turtles and barracuda. I dove in steep underwater canyons and caves. I explored a sunken ship. I fed the stingrays. I took underwater pictures. I used my underwater flashlight. The dive company would pick me up at my hotel about 8:30am and drive me to the beach or boat dock where we would start our dives. I was usually done between 2pm and 4pm. In total I went on 7 dives in 3 days (not counting the snorkeling). The instructors, guides & boat skipper were all from England so I got to rock the whole British groove. We HAVE to go back, and take more family (I really need a dive buddy).

For that you'll have to see Staci's post. I didn't spend much time ashore except in the pool with the kiddies. I took my DSLR and never used it. Sorry!

Looks like you had a spectacular time, especially scuba diving. The pictures and video of the sting ray and you going through the boat are way cool. So glad you got a little vacation.
